Spain is one of the best places to have a vacation. One of the greatest places in Spain is in the Alicante province. The place is known as Alcoy which is enclosed with hills like el Carrascal de la Font Roja and la Serra de Mariola. A lot of rivers flow though this Alcoy. Molinar, Riquer and Serpis are the few notable rivers that flow in Alcoy. Alcoy is also known as the City of bridges.

It is situated in the north of Alicante. It is a 45km drive from there. One can use the A – 7 highways to reach the place or the N- 340 road. One can also take the train as there is a connecting train.

About Alcoy

The place is developed as one of the primary commercial centers with more than sixty thousand people living there. This city started developing during the industrial revolution that happened in Spain. The first industrial school in Spanish was started here. There are a lot of buildings here which are very old and beautiful.

In Alcoy the best thing to do is to take a walk to have a nice scenic view from the bridge and also get a breath of fresh air. There is an archeological museum which in detail tells about the origin of the place and how it developed. It is a museum worth seeing location en espagne. Spring is the best time to visit Alcoy. There is a lot fun and frolic during the spring season. These celebrations are mostly from the 21st of April to 24th of April every year. This cultural event is very important in the city. The events will also be very appealing and impressive. The events were first documented in 1672. Its origin dates back to 1276. 

The first day of the celebration is devoted to the musicians who play on the street. They play traditional music. The second day is the most amazing. There will be a lot of processions and it will be very colorful to watch all that. San Jorge is for whom the third day is dedicated. And the fourth day will be the army people who will be marching in the street making a lot of sound with their guns. Finally the festival ends with a peace treaty.
