The Great Torrevieja

How often do you hear yourself saying, “My life is so dull and boring.” If you ask you ask your friends, you will get similar responses. If you are bored of the same routine, then it means your life lacks fun and adventure. Then why not set aside all the work and tension and have a break. Once great place to have this well deserved break would be Torrevieja, a town located in the South of Spain.

Torrevieja would be a nice get away from the day to day life. Here you would not find the tall buildings or the usual big hotels for the tourists. Then what makes this place so special? The town is surrounded by two beautiful natural lakes. Here is the surprise – both the lakes are salt water lakes. Perhaps for that reason the town of Torrevieja is well known for its production of salt. And speaking of salt, when you are in Torrevieja, make sure you visit the salt museum. Rich in history, the museum will give you an insight to the salt industry history of the town.

If you wish to spend the time out in the sun then the beautiful beaches of Torrevieja are the place to go. The water here is crystal blue and the sand is white. All in all, it would be more of a trip to paradise. But that is not all. Palaya delCura is another beach in Torrevieja. The sand here is of golden color and the beach has palm trees surrounding the place.

One of the biggest attractions of Torrevieja is the old tower. As a matter of fact the name Torrevieja means old tower. It is a guard tower that was built in the 16thcentury. Parts of the tower still remain and it is open for tourists.

Walking through the town would give you a feeling that you are back in old times. One of the specialties of this place is that it has hold on to the heritage of the yester years. Many of the houses and roads have the old designs, giving the people a feeling of going back in time.

And lastly, if you want to spend the day with family at a theme park, you will not be disappointed as Aquopolic is just the place for you. It is a large water park with numerous rides. Fun is guaranteed.

Those who love to shop will not be disappointed. You will find the local stores fascinating. When you have the time, look around and see what souvenirs you can take back home as mementos of your trip.
