The Amazing Puerto De La Cruz

The Puerto de la Cruz happens to be the second largest city on the Canary Islands, as it has adequate tourist accommodation of over 30,000. It however gets an average of about 900,000 visitors within the year.  It has been considered a major tourist destination for over many decades. It is located at the northern part of the Tenerife.

Most of its hotels however, seem to offer tourists apartments that give the visitors a good relaxation feeling of being at home. The amazing feature of this city is that despite its warm sunny weather the landscape is filled with luscious green gardens.

The city has a unique Canarian style to it. It comprises of a small harbor that is surrounded with cobbled narrow streets that create a traditional feel to the area. The streets are also filled with various executive boutiques, beautiful and exciting plazas and an endless list of places for tourists to see.

Its houses are uniquely traditional with balconies that look so ancient yet simply amazing. The restaurants that lay below the balconies are filled with defined smells of the traditional meals that they always seem to enjoy serving that of the Paella and the fried fish, which is served with their local wine. 

The Puerto de la Cruz is a destination right for different traveling occasions and has activities for the people of all ages to enjoy.

There is for example an adventurous animal park, where the visitors get to view all amazing animals. In it there are also other thrills one can enjoy. They even entertain you with a hilarious parrot show. There is also a water park known as the Lago Martianez which has a number of pools that visitors can come and swim in and relax. It is also within amazing gardens and a salt water lake.

It comprises of old town that has become to be very well known around Europe and hence it has been the getaway to those who are running away from the winter. It is also referred to as the fisherman haven as fishing has been a major trade in the location villa espagne. Another major trade for the locals is exporting of wine locally brewed from their numerous vineyards.

The Puerto de la Cruz also hosts one of the country’s major Fiesta known as La carnival. In this festival it is known the town comes to life each night. The people all dress up in fancy costumes that many have taken time to design for the fair and all are up till the early hours of the morning.

Food stalls are set up beside the harbor as well as at the main city square and food is served to the people till as late as can be. The people also get to dance their hearts away with the traditional music that is played by the local live bands. This event draws in more tourists as compared to other months within the year. At this point guests can see the warmth and vibrancy of the city and one is able to understand why it is the second largest in tourist destinations.
